This site is named IOLA, i.e. Interactive Online Listening Assistant. It is a City University Teaching Development Fund project aiming to facilitate the independent learning efforts of students taking the Spoken Language course offered by the English Language Centre.

The listening materials are mostly converted from ELC listening courses developed in the past.

IOLA makes heavy use of the Real Player program, which can be downloaded from http://www.real.com/. Public workstations on campus already have it.

IOLA is best viewed with Internet Explorer and Netscape (v.8), at a screen resolution of 800x600.
